Terms of Sale

1. Estimates & Takeoffs : All estimates, takeoffs, and material breakdowns are provided as a courtesy based on the information available at the time. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to review and confirm that all details, quantities, and interpretations align with their project requirements. 1st Choice Millworks is not liable for errors or omissions in these documents once approved.

2. Lead Times & Material Availability : All quoted delivery timelines are estimates and subject to change due to raw material availability, supplier schedules, and production capacity. We strive to meet projected timeframes, but delays can occur. We encourage open communication to coordinate expectations.

3. Payments & Timeline Start Dates : If a down payment is required, the production timeline will not begin until the payment has cleared our bank. Orders paid by credit card are subject to a 3% transaction fee, which will be added to the final invoice.

4. Sales Tax : All orders will include Idaho State Sales Tax unless a valid reseller permit is provided and on file at the time of order placement.

5. Delivery Terms

  • If delivery by 1st Choice Millworks is arranged, the purchaser is responsible for providing unloading assistance. This includes personnel to assist, direct placement, and sign off on the delivery receipt.
  • The act of signing the delivery receipt constitutes acceptance of the material in good condition at the time of hand-off.
  • Any visible damage, missing items, or shipping issues must be reported to 1st Choice Millworks within 5 business days of delivery. After that time, claims may not be honored.
  • Standard delivery for doors is to the garage or similar accessible location, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
  • When unit quantities of material are delivered (e.g., full units of lumber, doors, or panels), mechanical unloading equipment (e.g., forklift, skid steer with forks) is required on-site. We do not hand-unload full units.

6. Risk of Loss : Risk of loss transfers to the purchaser upon delivery and sign-off, regardless of who arranges or performs the delivery. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure materials are secured and stored appropriately after receipt.

7. Returns & Cancellations :

  • Custom items — defined as any product made to specific dimensions, profiles, species, or finishes not part of standard inventory — are non-refundable and cannot be canceled once production has started.
  • In-stock items may be considered for return within 30 days, subject to a 25% restocking fee. Items must be returned in original, unused condition.
  • All returns require prior approval from 1st Choice Millworks.

8. Product Guarantee & Material Disclaimer :

  • Our guarantee is that we will supply and/or manufacture what we say.
  • Wood is a natural product. A 1/16” variance in sizing or profile is not considered a defect.
  • Wood naturally expands and contracts with environmental conditions. Movement due to temperature or humidity is not considered a defect.
  • It is assumed that all finished woodwork will be kept in a climate-controlled environment to prevent movement or degradation.
  • For exterior applications, customers are responsible for applying an appropriate exterior-grade finish in line with the manufacturer’s recommendations. Any deviation increases the risk of wood movement, checking, or weather-related failure, and is not covered by any guarantee.

9. Force Majeure : 1st Choice Millworks is not liable for any delays or failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to acts of God, labor shortages, supplier delays, transportation disruptions, or extreme weather events.
